An existing standalone workshop in Islington required a full review due to its current stage of neglect and disrepair. Full demolition of the building allowed for a rethink of the site and building footprint.

Studio Hallett Ike proposed an efficient double height space to the predominant area of the workshop, with a mezzanine level of much needed amenity accommodation overlooking the workshop floor. Materials were selected to be robust and substantial, enhancing the strength, security and refinement of the building. Architectural blockwork and a corrugated steel skin, despite being efficient and durable, aim to produce a lightweight feel.
